I was just reading things on tumblr and Facebook about this girl called Amanda Todd who committed suicide last year in October because she had had enough of people bullying her through cyber, verbally and physically. It was enough for her to end her life. She’s well-known for her 9 minute Youtube video about her abuse she had uploaded.
What I don’t understand is how people are still able to write such negative comments saying “Thank God she’s dead” or “she deserved it that slut”. I never knew her personally but why do people have to say such horrid things to someone who died?
Then people post pictures of her with insulting captions, mocking and judging her. I even saw one that compared her to Paris Hilton; a photo of each with a list below to compare who is better. Saying how Paris Hilton didn’t do as bad as Amanda but yet she’s popularly named a slut or a bad influence. While Amanda has done worse things yet is called an angel and innocent. Thinking it’s unfair to Paris.
First off, I’m pretty sure who ever made those pictures didn’t know either of those two personally. Second, they need to get their facts right, they don’t know the whole story. And third, it shows they have no lives if they have so much free time searching what kind of porno videos they might had released so they can make a funny picture that might not even be correct. And I’m PRETTY SURE Paris Hilton hasn’t been abused/bullied repeatedly like Amanda. Things like this really affect people a lot more than people think.
A GIRL FUCKING KILLED HERSELF BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU.
Why can’t people just let the dead be and agree to disagree what type of person she was, and agree to say NO to any kind of bullying or anything that would cause anyone to suicide. Rather than to continue. Why can’t people realize A PERSON DIED? No matter who? Forget who she might have been if it bothers you so much, just fight for the cause. Don’t make other’s more angry and sad as it is.
And people are so angry that Amanda is getting so much attention when there are others who suicide. Why? I’m not saying Amanda was any more special than anyone else who had committed or attempted suicide. It’s the fact that she was BOTHERED to tell her story, to let people know what bullying can do, and its the fact that people who care about her are actually DOING SOMETHING about bullying. This is why her death has a huge worldwide reaction. Don’t hate her for it, and it’s not like this attention will benefit her personally (being dead and all…..) but rather it benefits others who are in the same situation as her.
Argh. Why can’t people stop being arrogant?
Holy.
Fucking.
Shit.

Finally got around to posting on tumblr. It’s been a while :)
…And I’m actually suppose to writing about memory failures and successes, how human memory is different to artificial devices and benefits and disadvantages for having false memory and blah blah blah…
So Procrastinating it is.
Procrastination. We meet again. Oh it’s been a while. I was doing so well avoiding you.. >.>
BUT glad that next week is last week of semester which means closer to exam time and closer to holidays!
